Is Élan Café the Most Instagrammable Place in London?

So I finally visited Élan Café not long ago and of course I had to document my experience! I went to the café on Park Lane in Mayfair.

If you’re interested in a mini virtual tour around the brunch spot, I have linked my full vlog above. But for a written summary of my experience at Élan Café, continue reading!

First of all, this place is 100% every blogger’s dream. If you’re not a blogger, then you might just find this little café your personal hell on Earth. Visitors of this coffee shop will stop at nothing to get the perfect Instagram shot. And that includes getting strangers out of their seats for a quick picture! It’s a very bizarre set up, but in the environment it all seemed oddly normal.

The average wait time to get seated is around 2 hours plus. This may be even more if you visit on a weekend or peak times during the day. And to make matters worse, the maximum stay is 45 minutes (!). So in my humble opinion, make the most of it and get a few hot snaps whilst you are there.

It’s also worth mentioning, during our visit they didn’t seem to be too strict on the 45 minute policy, so we didn’t feel rushed and left when we felt ready.

There are definitely plenty of opportunities to get the perfect picture. From flower walls, to decorative mirrors, to aesthetic food, you could take a picture of just about anything around you and it would be ‘instagrammable’.

Surprisingly, the food and drinks were not as pricey as I had expected, although still quite pricey. I enjoyed a latté and a generous slice of red velvet cake for around £15 in total. If you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, they also do light breakfast and lunch snacks.

Having said that, I personally don’t think the food is anything extraordinary for which I would recommend you queue hours to try. If you want a true brunch experience, there are plenty of other places I would recommend but I’ll save those for another day.

Overall, I would say it was an experience and a half. I have never quite visited a place so Instagram driven, with people purely flocking there for a photo (okay, okay I’m one of those people). Again, I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a peaceful place to eat with no sign of girls running around with their phones out.

Having said that, I definitely do understand the hype when it comes to creating content for Instagram. The decor is very well thought out and every corner is stunning to look at.

I can’t say I’ll be going back anytime soon, but I’m definitely glad I checked it out.
